Ericka F. Coners

Ericka Coners began her legal career at O’Connor Family Law as a law clerk in 2016 and was hired as an associate in 2018 after being admitted to the Illinois Bar. Prior to joining the firm, Ericka served as an intern at the Center for Disability of Elder Law (“CDEL”), where she strengthened her analytical skills and passion for helping litigants through the difficult times of their lives. Ericka also was employed as a student associate for the DePaul College of Law Schiller, DuCanto & Fleck Family Center, which exposed Ericka to all aspects of family law.
Ericka earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 2015. In 2018, Ericka graduated Cum Laude receiving her Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law with a certificate in family law.
While attending DePaul University, Ericka received a CALI award for earning the highest grade in the Family Law Clinic, served as a Citations Editor for the DePaul Journal for Social Justice and as the President of the Child & Family Law Association and was a recipient of the Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center Fellowship Grant. In addition to her academic achievements, Ericka volunteered at the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic (“DVLC”), gaining hands-on legal experience working with pro se litigants to better understand how the law can dramatically impact an individual’s well-being and lifestyle.
